Power Output Chain

From the DEC collectors the direct current is conditioned and combined into the installation's electrical output, with house loads drawn first.

The DEC collectors produce direct current at the various stage voltages. The power-output chain conditions and combines those currents into usable electrical output for the installation. Because the machine also consumes power — magnets, heating, pumps, cryoplant, controls — the chain must serve the internal house load before it exports anything.

Power conditioning takes the multi-voltage DC from the staged collectors, combines it, and converts it to the form the installation's electrical system needs. The heating and magnet systems are large internal consumers, and the net output is what remains after they are served. This internal balance is a physical accounting, stated here without any economic figures.

Stages of the chain

Because the machine consumes power to run its own magnets, heating, and cryoplant, startup needs an external or stored source until the burn is established and the DEC output exceeds the house load. Once past that crossover the machine is self-supplying, and the conditioning chain manages the balance between internal draw and net export.

Coupling to signature and resilience

For a fixed defense installation the output chain is also where resilience is built in: the machine can be configured to run islanded, supplying the site independent of an external grid. That independence, combined with the low fuel-logistics tail, is the resilient-sovereign-power story of the Aegis housing. The output chain is the hand-off from the machine's physics to the installation's power system.
