The fuel cycle: breed, then burn.
The breeder makes the fuel; the generator runs on it. It's a closed, domestic loop — deuterium and tritium in the breeder, helium-3 out to the burner fleet.
From D–T to helium-3 to power.
Breed
HYPERION runs D–T and breeds tritium on the blanket lever — ~1.7 kg/yr demonstrated toward a 4 kg/yr target — plus helium-3, independently of the blanket.
Transfer
Helium-3, the highest-value product, becomes the fuel for the D–³He generator fleet — a vertically integrated supply.
Burn
The generator burns D–³He at low neutron fraction (fₙ 5.44%) and converts charged products straight to electricity — no steam cycle.
One machine makes the fuel, the other burns it. That loop is the core of the program.
Open by design.
Run the fuel numbers yourself.
The blanket lever and the burner window are both in the live simulation.
