Kronos Fusion Energy is a breeder-first fusion company. Its compact spherical-tokamak breeder, HYPERION, is designed to make fuel and three strategic materials the U.S. can't source at scale — helium-3, tritium, and a 14 MeV neutron flux — while a low-neutron D–³He tandem-mirror generator, built as Aegis (defense) and MetroVolt (data centers), turns that fuel into firm, carbon-free power. Kronos develops its designs in the open: peer-reviewed papers, open code and data, and a live simulation anyone can run. The integrated machines are not yet built; prototype construction is targeted for 2030.
