Supply Security

Because both fuels are made domestically — deuterium from water, helium-3 from a home-built breeder — the burner's fuel supply is sovereign and resistant to disruption.

Fuel that cannot be embargoed

A fixed installation's power is only as resilient as its fuel. Fuels that must be imported, mined, or bought on a contested market are a vulnerability. The burner's fuel avoids that: deuterium comes from ordinary water, and helium-3 is bred at home by the breeder rather than sourced from a scarce, competed-for global stock. Both inputs are domestic, which is the technical meaning of sovereign power in the Aegis context.

Layers of resilience

Security comes from several features acting together. The helium-3 reserve is built ahead of demand, so most future fuel already exists in store. Deuterium is effectively unlimited. The breeder can be sited within the same jurisdiction as the burners it feeds. And because helium-3 arrives by slow decay, the supply is predictable years out and cannot be interrupted by a single event upstream.

This is a design-stage promise resting on a built breeder. The security is real only once the breeder fleet exists and is producing — which is why the programme builds the breeder first and treats lunar helium-3 as a supplement, not a crutch.
