Operations run on procedures and disciplined shift practices. Every routine and off-normal activity has a written procedure; every shift change transfers plant status clearly; and authority for significant actions is unambiguous. This structure is what makes continuous, safe operation repeatable rather than dependent on individuals.

Procedure classes

• Normal — rounds, control actions, routine tasks
• Abnormal — response to off-normal indications
• Emergency — actions to protect people and reach a safe state
• Work control — permits, isolation, and lockout for maintenance

Shift discipline

Turnover at shift change transfers a complete, accurate picture of plant status, in-progress work, and any degraded equipment. Logs record events and actions. Two-person verification applies to safety-significant steps so no single error goes unchecked.

Authority and control

Clear lines of authority define who can authorize which actions, and work-control processes ensure equipment is properly isolated before maintenance. This framework is developed at design stage and validated on the simulator and the first test burner.
