Scheduled Maintenance Program
A tiered schedule groups tasks into short online checks and longer outages timed to component life and inspection needs.
The scheduled maintenance program groups tasks by frequency and by whether they can be done while running. Frequent, low-impact checks are done online; deeper inspections and replacements are batched into planned outages so the machine comes down as few times as possible for as short a time as possible.
Task tiers
- Online — monitoring reviews, calibration checks, consumables
- Minor outage — auxiliary servicing, instrument work, vacuum-preserving tasks
- Major outage — vacuum-breaking inspections and component replacement
- Life-driven campaigns — replacing components at end of design life
Outage batching
Because breaking vacuum and warming coils are expensive in time, tasks that require those conditions are batched. An outage is planned so that once the machine is opened, all the work that needs that access is completed together, followed by pump-down, bakeout, and conditioning to return to service.
Planning inputs
The schedule is built from component life estimates, inspection intervals, and condition-monitoring data. It is engineered at design stage against the frozen machine and refined as operating experience accumulates, beginning with the first test burner.
