Redundant, hot-swappable design is how an early burner narrows the availability gap while its component lifetimes are still being learned.
Design for the uptime you cannot yet prove
With component lifetimes unmeasured, redundancy is the near-term lever on availability. N+1 subsystems, hot-swappable modules, and fast fault isolation let the plant ride through failures that would otherwise become outages — buying uptime before fleet hours exist.

- Fuel handling and injection paths
- DEC and power-conditioning trains

Honest limits of redundancy
Redundancy narrows the availability gap but does not by itself reach Tier III. The 30–100x shortfall against 0.99982 also requires measured lifetimes and removed failure modes. Redundancy is the first move, not the whole answer.
