MetroVolt’s premise is co-location: a firm generator next to a data-center campus or at a city’s edge, delivering power over a short interconnect. That premise shapes readiness — the machine must be compact, low-water, and acceptable to site near people and critical loads.
What siting readiness involves
Siting near load means meeting footprint, water, noise, and safety expectations that a remote thermal plant can avoid. The near-absence of a steam cycle helps footprint and water. The safety case, licensing, and community acceptance are separate readiness items, each in early stages appropriate to a design-stage machine.
