Many organizations pursue fusion energy, most using D-T fuel and thermal (steam-cycle) power conversion. None has demonstrated net electric. MetroVolt sits in this landscape as a design-stage concept with distinct choices, not as a proven exception — the honest comparison is on approach, not on results, because results do not yet exist for anyone.
Honest positioning
MetroVolt’s choices carry their own harder problems — helium-3 supply and tandem-mirror confinement chief among them — which mainstream D-T tokamak efforts do not face in the same form. It is not “ahead” or “behind” the field so much as a different bet, at a similar early maturity.
