Assurance, not just supply
Mission assurance asks a harder question than ‘is there power?’ It asks whether the mission will still have power on its worst planned-for day — grid down, resupply denied, a unit in maintenance, weather severe. Aegis is positioned as a mission-assurance source: designed so that the mission core keeps power under the combination of stresses, not just under normal conditions.
What assurance requires
Assurance is the product of every property in this section acting together: islanding so the grid can be lost, on-site fuel so resupply can be denied, redundancy so a unit can fail, storage so transitions are survived, hardening so hazards are endured, and load prioritisation so shortfalls fall on non-critical demand. Remove any one and the worst-day guarantee weakens.

The honest boundary of assurance
Mission assurance is bounded by the availability gate and the fuel-scale gate: a single unit is 0.86–0.995, and fleet-scale fuel does not yet exist (helium-3 demand ~400× supply). Assurance is therefore delivered by the whole architecture and matures with the program — it is an engineered property with stated limits, not an absolute.
