Clean firm energy, developed in the open with honest limits, in service of people and the biosphere — the whole argument, briefly.
The argument, compressed
Energy sits upstream of nearly every pressure on the biosphere. A clean, firm, non-combustion source could relieve several of those pressures at once — climate, air, and, if it enables recycling, materials. Fusion is a candidate for that firm role. We are studying two machines toward it, and we are honest that they are not yet built.
What we are building
- Breeder (Hyperion): a D-T spherical tokamak, tritium and helium-3 and 14 MeV neutrons; construction begins Q2 2027, first tritium targeted around 2030
- Burner (Aegis / MetroVolt): a D-3He tandem-mirror generator with direct energy conversion and a low neutron fraction of 5.44%, for fixed installations and data centers
We make no hardware net-gain claim before the first-of-a-kind machine operates. Where the science is unsettled — the tritium breeding ratio, the helium-3 supply — we say so. Every environmental figure we give is a design-study estimate, labeled as such.
How we build
In the open. We publish papers with DOIs, share data under open licenses, pre-register falsifiable predictions, keep a reproducible analysis record, freeze designs so claims attach to real configurations, and design digitally before cutting metal. These practices are how environmental trust is earned rather than asserted.
