Concentrated fuel deposits have driven conflict; fuel that is widely available and not geographically concentrated could ease one source of tension.

Fuel geography and conflict

Access to concentrated energy deposits has shaped alliances, dependencies, and conflicts for over a century. Energy security — having a supply not at the mercy of a distant supplier — is a genuine national and human concern. Part of fusion's appeal is that its fuels are not concentrated the way oil and gas fields are.

Deuterium is in seawater everywhere. Tritium can be bred. This does not make fusion a guarantee of peace — technologies and materials can be contested for many reasons — but it removes one specific driver: the scramble for scarce, geographically fixed deposits. That is a modest, real contribution to energy security.

Stated with limits

We also note that one housing, Aegis, is for fixed defense installations — resilient on-site clean power. That is an honest part of the picture, and it is about resilience and clean supply, not offensive capability. Widely available fuel is a quiet contribution to stability, claimed without overreach.
