Readiness Posture: An Overview
Kronos states plainly what is designed, what is simulated, and what remains to be demonstrated in hardware.
Honesty as an engineering discipline
A defense customer cannot plan around a promise that outruns the evidence. Kronos treats readiness as a claim that must be earned gate by gate, and it publishes the gates rather than the hype. Both machines — the breeder (Hyperion) and the burner (Aegis / MetroVolt) — are today design and simulation studies. No hardware net-gain result has been produced, and none is claimed before the first-of-a-kind (FOAK) breeder produces first tritium, targeted for approximately 2030 with construction beginning Q2 2027.

- Tritium breeding ratio (TBR) is treated as a design lever across 1.1, 1.5, and 1.8 — not a settled result.
Every figure above comes from the public design basis. Where a number is a target, a lever, or a simulation output rather than a measurement, this library says so.
