Responsible Dual-Use Posture

How Kronos serves defense while keeping civilian energy primary and making only conservative, public claims.

Dual-use, handled responsibly

Fusion is inherently dual-use: the same isotopes, neutrons, and resilient power that serve civilian purposes also have defense value. Kronos does not pretend otherwise. Instead it adopts an explicit posture: civilian energy and isotope production are the primary purpose, defense value is described conservatively and publicly, and sensitive detail stays behind a firewall.

Responsible dual-use postureCIVILIAN PRIMACY• Energy is the first purpose• Isotopes are civilian products• Public physics basis• Safeguards by designDEFENSE VALUE (PUBLIC ONLY)• Resilient sovereign power• Stockpile-class tritium• He-3 for detection• 14 MeV neutron testingA firewall keeps classified detail out; only public, conservative claims are made.

The three commitments

What this posture rules out

It rules out publishing weapons-design detail, naming defense personnel or affiliations, disclosing classified content, or making claims that outrun the evidence. It also rules out letting a defense framing quietly upgrade a technical claim: the same honest gates apply whether the audience is a scientist, an investor, or a defense counterpart. A capability that is design-stage for one audience is design-stage for all of them.

This posture is not a marketing choice; it is a condition for operating credibly in a domain where trust is earned by restraint as much as by capability.
