The terms on which Kronos engages defense counterparts: public-first, evidence-based, and firewalled by default.
How Kronos engages
This category ends where a defense engagement begins: with the principles Kronos brings to the table. They are consistent with everything above — civilian primacy, honest gates, responsible disclosure — and they are stated so a counterpart knows exactly what kind of partner the program intends to be.
The five principles
- Public-first: engagement begins from the open physics basis and this readiness record, not from privileged claims.
- Evidence-based: a capability is described at its true maturity — design-stage until a gate is passed, demonstrated only when hardware earns it.
- Firewalled by default: sensitive detail is protected structurally; nothing weapons-relevant enters public channels.
- Civilian primacy: the same well-characterized civilian capabilities are what defense reuses.
- Nonproliferation: transparency, accountancy, and lawful channels govern every material transfer.
What a counterpart can expect
A counterpart can expect a program that says what it can prove, protects what must be protected, and does not let a defense framing inflate a claim. The breeder and burner are, today, design and simulation studies with construction of the first breeder beginning Q2 2027 and first tritium targeted for approximately 2030. Kronos will report progress against its published gates as evidence arrives — and only then. That restraint is the foundation on which any durable defense partnership is built.
