Water use, activated-material handling, and effluent monitoring are designed to environmental standards from the start.

Environmental readiness is licensing readiness

A facility cannot be built without satisfying environmental requirements — water use, effluent limits, waste classification, and site impact. Fusion's environmental profile is favorable relative to many energy sources: no carbon combustion, no fission-product inventory, and waste dominated by activated structural materials that decay over engineering timescales rather than geological ones.

What is managed

Honest internal accounting

Kronos conducts environmental screening per product (breeder and burner housings) and resolves open items internally before making any external claim; a screening that mistook scale for dirtiness was rejected precisely because it compared unlike quantities. This library does not publish site-specific environmental analyses or economics; it states that environmental compliance is treated as a design input and a licensing prerequisite, not a downstream formality.

Doing the environmental work early is part of what makes the Q2 2027 construction start credible rather than aspirational.
