No Free Energy, No Perpetual Motion

Fusion is hard because it obeys thermodynamics like everything else; Kronos never implies limitless or effortless energy.

Fusion obeys the same laws as everything

Fusion releases energy by binding light nuclei, but it does not suspend thermodynamics. Every Kronos machine must be heated, confined, and maintained with real input power, and it faces real losses. There is no free energy and no perpetual motion. Any framing that implies otherwise is not just hype — it is physically false.

What we never imply

Energy in (heating, magnets, plant)Energy out (useful)THE GATEgain lives in this comparisonclaims allowed todayno net-gain claim before this

Why this matters for gain claims

The temptation in fusion communication is to quote fusion power while ignoring input power — to imply energy appeared from nowhere. That is why we distinguish Q_sci from Q_eng so carefully: the honest question is always output relative to everything that went in. A gain claim that hides the denominator is a free-energy claim in disguise.

Fusion is worth pursuing precisely because it is hard and bounded, not because it is magic. Saying so keeps expectations tethered to physics.
