The Honest Timeline

Kronos states one timeline everywhere: construction Q2 2027, FOAK first tritium ~2030, then NOAK and BOAK — with no net-gain claim before FOAK.

One timeline, stated plainly

A program's dates are a claim like any other, and they drift toward optimism unless pinned. Kronos uses one frozen timeline in every document. Breeder construction begins Q2 2027. The first-of-a-kind (FOAK) machine targets first tritium around 2030. A next-of-a-kind (NOAK) and best-of-a-kind (BOAK) follow. The burner test comes later still.

What the dates are and are not

• They are targets for a design and construction program, not achieved milestones
• 'First tritium ~2030' is when hardware first speaks — before that, everything is simulation
• No hardware net-gain claim is made before FOAK
• Retired framings, like earlier net-gain dates, are not quietly reused

Keeping the timeline honest

The same dates appear on technical pages and outward-facing materials alike; we do not show an aggressive timeline in one venue and a cautious one in another. If a date moves, it moves everywhere, with a reason. A reader who sees two Kronos timelines has found a bug, and we want them to be able to.

Timelines are where hope most often leaks into stated fact. Freezing one, and refusing to attach hardware claims to pre-hardware dates, is how we keep the leak sealed.
