How to Cite the Breeder Record

Cite the version DOI for a specific number and the concept DOI for the work in general; this page gives the exact identifiers and the rule for choosing between them.

Cite the right identifier

A citation to the breeder (Hyperion) record should be unambiguous and durable. Zenodo provides two kinds of DOI, and the choice depends on whether a claim depends on a specific number.

The rule

If your statement would change should a number be corrected, cite the version DOI so your reference is pinned to the numbers you actually used. If you are pointing at the body of work, cite the concept DOI so the reader lands on the current version. When in doubt, cite the version DOI — precision is cheap and durability is the point.

What a good citation includes

Author, title, year, the deposit repository (Zenodo), and the DOI. Because the deposit is versioned and checksummed, a version-DOI citation identifies not just a document but an exact set of bytes a reader can fetch and verify — which is what makes the reference reproducible rather than merely locatable.

This page describes a design-and-simulation study, not a built machine. Construction of the breeder (Hyperion) begins Q2 2027; first-of-a-kind first tritium is targeted near 2030. No hardware net-gain claim is made before FOAK.
