- Readiness: diesel is proven and fielded; the burner is a design study.
- Availability: mature gensets are highly available; the burner is 0.86–0.995.
- Fuel supply: diesel supply exists; helium-3 is ~400× short of demand per unit.
The honest picture is a technology with clear advantages in signature and logistics that is not yet a substitute for diesel on readiness, availability, or fuel supply.
