Lunar Helium-3 Supply Chain
Because terrestrial helium-3 cannot meet burner-scale fuel demand, the long-horizon supply story depends on lunar helium-3, gated to roughly 2038-40.
A supply that does not yet exist at scale
The burner (Aegis / MetroVolt) is fueled by deuterium and helium-3. Its helium-3 fuel demand is roughly 400x domestic supply per commercial unit, a gap that breeder breeding alone cannot close. The candidate source at the required scale is helium-3 embedded in lunar regolith by the solar wind over geologic time, extracted and returned to Earth.
This is a long, unproven, and expensive-in-effort supply chain that does not exist today. Kronos states the gate plainly: burner-scale operation is dependent on a lunar helium-3 supply chain reaching maturity around 2038-40. Nothing about the burner's site-power role is available before that dependency is met.
Why it is in an energy-security section
The lunar dependency is the deepest logistics fact about the burner. The machine that would cut the terrestrial fuel-logistics tail depends, at scale, on a cislunar logistics chain. This is honest full-physics framing: the fuel-supply gate is as real as the plasma-physics gates and is the reason breeder-bred and lunar helium-3 both matter.

It is worth stating the trade in one sentence: the burner would replace a terrestrial fuel-logistics tail with a cislunar one. Kronos's honest position is to name the dependency and its rough timing, not to assert that the lunar chain will exist on schedule.
