Schedule and Milestones

A compact timeline from Q2 2027 construction start through first plasma, the physics gates, and first tritium near 2030.

The milestone chain

The first-of-a-kind breeder follows a defined sequence of milestones, each dependent on the one before. The schedule below is a plan for a machine not yet built; it is stated as intent, with schedule risk retired by execution rather than assumed away.

Dependencies

Long-lead procurement gates the whole schedule, which is why it begins at construction start. Commissioning cannot begin until assembly is complete; the physics gates cannot be judged until the relevant subsystems are commissioned; first tritium cannot happen until confinement and field are demonstrated. The chain is strict.

After FOAK

Beyond first tritium, the program moves to NOAK and BOAK units, which are planned to build faster than the roughly 3.5-year FOAK as procurement and assembly mature. The breeder fleet remains small, sized to isotope demand.

Every date here is a target for a machine not yet built. No hardware net-gain, and indeed no net electricity, is claimed at any milestone; the breeder's demonstration is gain and first tritium.
