The Breeder-Burner Fuel Link

The breeder (Hyperion) makes helium-3; the burner (Aegis / MetroVolt) uses it — two machines joined by a shared fuel product.

One product, two roles

The two Kronos machines are connected through helium-3. The breeder (Hyperion) produces helium-3 in situ as a byproduct of its deuterium-tritium operation. The burner (Aegis / MetroVolt) fuses deuterium with helium-3. The output of one machine is a fuel for the other, which is why the fuel picture is best understood as a system rather than two separate demands.

Why the link matters

A deuterium-helium-3 machine on its own faces a fuel problem, because terrestrial helium-3 is scarce. Pairing it with a breeder that makes helium-3 turns that scarcity into a solvable supply question. The breeder's byproduct becomes the burner's feedstock, and both draw their other input, deuterium, from water.

A system, not two fuel problems

Viewed separately, the burner has a helium-3 scarcity problem and the breeder has a helium-3 surplus; viewed together, one solves the other. Treating the two machines as a single fuel system is the honest framing, because the breeder's byproduct is exactly the burner's feedstock and both share deuterium from water. The link is what makes a deuterium-helium-3 machine practical on Earth at all.
