Level of Detail in the Model
The model swaps mesh detail by distance and device speed while keeping every selectable part and every measurement intact.
Detail that follows attention
A machine this complex cannot render every fastener at once on every device. The model uses level-of-detail, or LOD, to show fine geometry where you are looking and simplified geometry elsewhere. This is a rendering technique, and it never changes the engineering content.
Distance-based LOD
When a component is far from the camera, the model draws a coarser mesh. As you fly in, finer detail loads: coil turn structure, blanket sub-module edges, port flanges. Because selection and callouts are attached to the component, not to a particular mesh resolution, you can still click a distant part and read its numbers.
Device-based LOD
- A full mode for capable machines shows the finest available geometry.
- A lightweight mode decimates mesh detail for slower devices and touch screens.
- Both modes carry identical selectable components and identical physics callouts.
What LOD never touches
LOD only ever removes visual triangles. It never removes a measurement, changes a dimension, or hides a physics gate. The frozen values, 16.84 T peak, 9.86 MA, tritium breeding ratio 1.8, 26.49 T in the burner plug, are properties of the design record and are unaffected by how many polygons the scene is drawing.
Why this matters for trust
