Labeled History: Superseded Values Are Kept, Not Deleted

When a Kronos number changes, the old one stays in the record with an era label — on purpose.

Kronos does not delete superseded values; it labels them. The old scaled gain, the earlier tokamak design point, the zero-synchrotron directed-fraction ceiling — each stays in the record as labeled history, so the reasoning that moved the number is visible.

The science

The labeled-history rule keeps the trail intact: a withdrawn value is annotated, not erased, so anyone can see what changed and why. The retired tokamak-era numbers, the withdrawn scaled gain, and the ceiling directed fraction all remain in the record with era labels rather than vanishing into a clean but unaccountable final version.

Why it matters

A record that erases its own history cannot be audited; a record that labels it can. Keeping superseded values visible is what lets a reviewer reconstruct the design's evolution and trust that the current numbers are the result of correction, not concealment.
