Fixed Site, Not Shipboard: A Computed Negative Kept in the Open

The naval-propulsion version of Aegis does not fit in a hull — and Kronos published the reason.

Aegis is a fixed-site generator, not a shipboard one, because the naval case closes negative. A shipboard mirror would need 263-362 m of central cell against the 273 m longest straight run inside the largest carrier hull — and only one hull in the world could even be fueled.

The science

The burner's central cell is long because length sets power, and a militarily useful shipboard output requires 263-362 m. That exceeds the 273 m longest straight run available inside a Ford-class hull for most of the range, and the fuel logistics fit only a single vessel class. The geometry simply does not close at sea.

Why it matters

Publishing the negative keeps someone from rediscovering it in a board meeting. Freezing 'Aegis is fixed-site' converts a computed dead end into a settled framing, so the product is pitched where it wins — installations — not where it loses.
