REBCO High-Temperature Superconductor
Rare-earth barium copper oxide tape that carries huge currents at high field; the enabling magnet material.
REBCO — rare-earth barium copper oxide — is a high-temperature superconducting tape that sustains very high current densities in very high magnetic fields. It is the material that makes compact, high-field fusion magnets possible.
HYPERION's magnets reach a peak field of 16.84 T using REBCO; the burner's plug coils push to 26.49 T. Kronos's REBCO study is deposited openly.
