Surface Heat Flux
The heat per area a plasma-facing surface must shed.
Surface heat flux — the power per unit area on the first wall and divertor — sets cooling requirements and lifetime. HYPERION's first wall is designed for 1.97 MW/m2; the divertor peak is handled by spreading and detachment.
