Neutron Energy Spectrum

The distribution of neutron energies a machine produces — it sets damage and breeding.

D–T fusion produces a sharp 14 MeV neutron line; scattering in the blanket softens the spectrum. The spectrum shapes both material damage and tritium breeding, and is a key input to neutronics design.
