Ion-Temperature-Gradient Mode
A key micro-instability driving ion heat transport.
The ion-temperature-gradient (ITG) mode is a leading drift-wave instability that transports ion heat outward once the temperature gradient exceeds a threshold. It is a primary target of turbulence suppression.
