Decay Heat

Residual heat from activated materials after shutdown; small for fusion but not zero.

After shutdown, neutron-activated materials release decay heat as they relax. In fusion it is far smaller than in fission and cannot cause a runaway, but it is accounted for in safety and cooling design.
