What sets Kronos apart technically?
Four things together: a low-neutron deuterium–helium-3 fuel (most concepts use neutron-heavy D–T), direct energy conversion instead of a steam turbine, a negative-triangularity edge that protects the converter and needs no ELM management, and a compact high-field spherical tokamak. Few programs combine all four.
What sets it apart culturally?
Openness. Kronos publishes its full simulation record (81 analyses under CC BY 4.0), states its LCOE as a ladder rather than a headline, pre-registers seven falsifiable predictions, and maintains an honest register of what it cannot yet claim. It calls itself 'the fusion company that shows its work.'
Does it overclaim?
It works hard not to. It says 'low-neutron,' not 'aneutronic'; it declines the sub-$40/MWh cost figures others quote; and it labels design-point numbers as design points, not as an existing machine.
