What is Kronos Fusion Energy?

Kronos is a compact-fusion company with an unusual, honest plan: build the machine that makes the fuel first, then the machine that burns it cleanly. Two machines, published in the open.

Machine one
HYPERION — spherical-tokamak D–T breeder
Machine two
D–³He tandem-mirror burner (Aegis / MetroVolt)
Approach
Breed the fuel first, then burn it — 'fuel follows purpose'
Method
Open data, two Zenodo deposits, a live simulation

Most fusion companies bet everything on a single reactor. Kronos builds two, each matched to its job. The HYPERION breeder is a compact spherical tokamak that burns D–T to reach gain and to breed tritium — which decays into the helium-3 the second machine needs. The burner is a D–³He tandem mirror that runs low-neutron fuel and converts charged particles directly to electricity, built in two lengths: Aegis for installations and MetroVolt for cities and data centers.

What makes Kronos distinctive is not just the machines but the method. Every headline number is published in two citable open deposits, the physics runs live in your browser in the simulation, and the hard open problems are named rather than hidden. The goal is a compact generator a reviewer can check, not take on faith.

Honest statusThis is a conceptual-design and simulation program. No machine has been built; the burner's closing point is requirement-class. Kronos publishes what it can defend and labels the rest open.
