Nuclear Licensing & Safety Lead

Lead the licensing and safety strategy — including engagement under the byproduct-material framework.

About the role

Kronos intends to be the fusion company regulators trust. You'll own the safety case and the licensing pathway, build the assurance and documentation, and engage regulators early — turning honesty and rigor into a licensable program.

What you'll do

• Own the licensing strategy and regulator engagement (pre-application onward).
• Build the safety case and hazard/PRA analyses.
• Develop the assurance case and decision-audit documentation.
• Align design teams with regulatory expectations from day one.
• Support tritium, radiological, and byproduct-material compliance.
• Keep the safety record public where appropriate.

What you bring

• Experience in nuclear licensing, safety analysis, or regulatory affairs.
• Familiarity with NRC frameworks (byproduct material / Part 30 a plus).
• Strong PRA, hazard-analysis, and documentation skills.
• Clear, credible communication with regulators.
• Bonus: fusion or advanced-reactor licensing experience.

Compensation

Compensation discussed early in the process; California pay range provided on request.
