Shift Handover and Operating Briefings

A structured, replayable handover so an incoming crew inherits the machine's full state, open issues, and recent history without loss.

Handover is a safety-critical transfer

Continuity of awareness across a shift change is a recognized weak point in any 24/7 operation: knowledge in the outgoing crew's heads that never reaches the incoming crew becomes a latent hazard. Kronos L6 makes handover a structured, recorded step rather than a hallway conversation. The incoming crew inherits not just the current state but the story of how the machine got there.

What a handover packet contains

The packet is generated from live systems, not retyped, so it cannot silently drift from reality. The outgoing session leader adds narrative and flags judgment calls; the incoming leader acknowledges receipt. Both are recorded, giving a continuous accountable chain across shifts — which is also what post-event reviews need when an issue spans a handover boundary.

Briefings before high-consequence operations

Before a demanding sequence — a breeder shape maneuver near the negative-triangularity edge, or a burner plug-density push — the crew runs a pre-operation briefing off the same surface: expected trajectory from the predictive shadow, the envelope margins in play, the mitigation plan, and role assignments. This is the human analogue of the safe-operating-envelope check the MPC does in software.

Handover leans on the same reconstructions the team uses for analysis — see incident replay — and every notable event referenced is preserved in the audit record. Off-site crew can review the packet through mobile access.
