3D Twin Walkthrough and Inspection Mode

An immersive inspect-and-annotate mode that lets engineers move through the machine's geometry to examine twin state, component health, and provenance in place.

Moving through the machine, not around a chart

Beyond the fixed control-room overlay, engineers need to inspect specific regions of the machine in depth — a section of the breeder's first wall, a REBCO winding pack, the burner's plug region or DEC collector. The 3D walkthrough mode lets them move through the twin's geometry and examine local state, component health, and history exactly where those things physically are, on desktop and, where available, on stereoscopic displays.

Inspect, measure, annotate

Selecting any component reveals the twin's local estimates — temperature, neutron fluence, strain — with confidence and provenance, plus the diagnostics constraining that region. Engineers can take measurements between points, compare a region against its design reference, and leave annotations that persist and are shared with the team. An annotation on a high-strain magnet region, for instance, follows that component into dashboards and incident replay.

A public-safe subset

The walkthrough respects the same public/private split as the rest of the Kronos 3D model program: detailed CAD and sensitive component data are access-controlled, while a teaser subset can be shown more broadly. The engineering inspection mode shows full detail to authorized operators; less-privileged views show reduced geometry and no protected internals. This is enforced by access rules, not by hiding controls.

The walkthrough is the immersive sibling of the control-room 3D overlay and shares its confidence and provenance surfaces. Because it renders twin output only, it is inherently offline-safe and holds no control authority — inspection never touches the live plant.
