Can fusion power a data center?

That is one of the jobs Kronos designed the burner for. A full-length MetroVolt delivers firm, continuous power at the scale a hyperscale campus actually draws.

Data centers want three things a fusion generator can provide: large continuous power, a clean profile, and independence from congested grids. MetroVolt, the long form of the Kronos burner, is sized around +2832 MWe of firm output — the kind of load a hyperscale campus represents — and can be sited close to it.

Because it runs continuously (not intermittently), it supplies firm power without the storage overbuild that solar-plus-batteries needs for 24/7 loads. Its output comes partly from direct energy conversion, which is a good match for the DC-heavy electrical environment of modern compute.

Honest statusMetroVolt's closing physics is requirement-class and its fleet economics are gated on future helium-3 supply. It is a designed capability, not an available product.
