Industrial process heat — for chemicals, cement, steel, and more — is one of the largest and hardest-to-abate sources of emissions, because it needs vast amounts of firm, high-grade heat that intermittent renewables can't easily supply. It's a natural application for firm fusion.
A fusion plant can deliver both firm electricity and high-grade heat with zero operating CO₂.
