Grid firming is the job of providing power that is there whenever it is needed — day or night, calm or still — to balance a grid increasingly filled with intermittent wind and solar. A dispatchable generator is one whose output can be scheduled and relied upon, the opposite of weather-driven supply. As renewables grow, the value of firm capacity behind them grows with it.

Kronos designs MetroVolt to be exactly that firm, dispatchable anchor: 0.61–0.84 GWe per unit of low-carbon, weather-independent power, with a high capacity factor and a DC-native output from direct energy conversion. Rather than competing with renewables, firm fusion complements them — supplying the always-on baseload that lets a grid run on clean energy without gaps.
