Why is fusion energy important?
Because it promises something no other source combines: firm, always-on power that is clean, safe, and runs on effectively inexhaustible fuel. A decarbonizing grid needs firm low-carbon power to back up intermittent renewables, and today that role is filled mostly by fossil fuels. Fusion aims to fill it cleanly.
What problems could fusion solve?
