S.M.A.R.T. — the Superconducting Min-Aspect-Ratio Torus — is the design platform at the heart of Kronos Fusion Energy, protected by the company's granted patent US 12,009,112. It bundles the defining choices of the Kronos approach: a high-field HTS magnet system, a low aspect ratio spherical geometry, a conserved negative-triangularity edge, and a multi-modal direct-energy converter.
Both Kronos products are built on this one architecture: MetroVolt, the commercial generator, and AEGIS, the defense-oriented variant. Sharing a single validated design means the physics and engineering work done for one carries to the other — and it is why the 81-analysis validation record underpins the whole product line rather than a single machine.
