Plasma diagnostics are the instruments that measure what a plasma is doing — its temperature, density, current, position, magnetic configuration, and radiation — often thousands of times per second and without touching the plasma. They are the eyes of the machine: nothing can be controlled that isn't first measured.
Kronos MetroVolt treats diagnostics as a constellation feeding a real-time control stack. Signals from magnetics, interferometry, spectroscopy, and structural sensors such as fiber-Bragg strain gauges on the magnet are ingested through deterministic hardware, scored against a digital twin, and used to hold the plasma's shape within its safety envelope. The design is candid that this control stack must ultimately be validated on real machine data — first at the G1 testbed.
