Energy is a logistics vulnerability for forward operations: fuel convoys are targets, and grid ties can be cut. A generator that produces firm power on site changes that calculus. Aegis is the compact form of the Kronos burner, sized around +850 MWe for fixed installations.
It is deliberately fixed-site: the shipboard case is closed as not feasible (a warship hull can't hold the required straight length). Aegis is delivered by rail and assembled on site — the way DoD-sited reactors have always arrived — on about 1.66 acres. Its low-neutron fuel gives a long first-wall life, so availability is set by plug reliability rather than neutron damage.
