S78 tests the high-field magnet system — the REBCO conductor, its structural loads, and its protection — that lets a compact tokamak reach a 24.6 T peak field.
What the register records
A constraint-checked upgrade (NOT a change to the frozen point): R_c 1.40→1.44 m and B0 6.0→6.11 T holds peak conductor field at the demonstrated 24.4 T while improving Troyon and kink margins; the freed β_N headroom can instead buy +6% Pfus (2409→2557 MW) at unchanged H98.
