About the Role

Location: On-Site / 20% Travel to Austin, TX or Los Angeles, CA
Position Type: Full-Time (6-Month Temp-to-Hire)


Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-field magnets essential for magnetic confinement in our fusion energy reactors.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize magnet designs for efficiency and stability in extreme conditions.

  • Conduct simulations and testing to ensure magnets meet performance and safety standards.

  • Contribute to the advancement of our SMART series by integrating novel materials and technologies into magnet systems.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in magnet design, particularly within fusion energy or related fields.

  • Strong background in superconducting and high-temperature magnet technologies.

  • Proficiency in simulation software and electromagnetics.
