A Family Company
Three generations. One long arc.
Kronos Fusion Energy is a family-owned American company. That is not a detail — it is the reason we can build fusion the way it should be built: patiently, and for the long run.
I come from people who think in decades.
My grandfather, P.K. Iyengar, spent his life inside the atom — he directed India's Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and chaired its Atomic Energy Commission. I was a child the first time he told me about fusion, and what I remember most is how excited he was: certain, lit up, describing a technology that would change the world someday. He believed it was coming. He made me believe it too.
My mother carried that mind to America. An engineer of rare gift, she came to this country on a visa reserved for extraordinary ability, and built at Boeing, Oracle, and Cummins. I didn't grow up on fairy tales — I grew up on what she was reading: databases, computing, systems. Mine was a family that read the future to its children instead of bedtime stories.
So fusion was never a business idea I went looking for. It was an inheritance I was raised inside of.
In 2014, I sold my company. I paid off my mother's house — and I put everything else into this.
We are family-funded and family-controlled, by design. No venture clock, no pressure to overpromise for the next round — only the freedom to anchor every milestone in physics and integrity, and to build for the generation that comes after, the way the ones before me did.
My grandfather told a little girl this was coming. We intend to keep his word.
