Most fusion efforts chase net electricity from a single machine. Kronos separates the jobs — breed the fuel and strategic materials first, then burn the fuel for power.
Two machines, two optimizations.
A product before a plant
The breeder is sized to a supply need — helium-3, tritium, 14 MeV neutrons — so the program has a product before it has a power plant.
Solved, not hoped
The physics that has to close is solved at demonstrated confinement — breeder gain Q 3.424 — not at an extrapolated future point.
Fuel follows purpose
The burner runs on the helium-3 the breeder makes. Fuel follows purpose, not platform: breed what's needed, burn it where it's needed.
Fusion is usually pitched as electricity. Kronos begins one step earlier — the breeder is a factory for scarce materials.
