Gustave F. Perna

General (RET) Gustave F. Perna is a distinguished military leader whose broad experience in national security provides invaluable benefits to the Kronos Fusion Energy team. Serving as an Executive Board Advisor and Founding Partner, Gen. Perna's proficiency in logistics and global operations is key to progressing the company's fusion energy endeavors.


Gen. Perna embarked on his remarkable military career after earning an associate degree in business administration from Valley Forge Military Academy. As a Distinguished Military Graduate, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant, Infantry Officer. He later earned a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Maryland and a master's degree in logistics management from the Florida Institute of Technology.


Throughout his career, Gen. Perna held various high-ranking positions, including the 19th Commander of the U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC) starting from September 2016. In this role, he managed one of the Army's largest commands, directing 190,000 military, civilian, and contractor employees across all 50 states and 152 countries. His past roles also include the Army's Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4, and Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/4, U.S. Army Materiel Command.


Gen. Perna's military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Ordnance Officer Advanced Course, Logistics Executive Development Course, Support Operations Course, Command and General Staff College, and Senior Service College. His awards and decorations encompass the Distinguished Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Defense Superior Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Parachutist and Air Assault Badges.


As an essential part of the Kronos team, Gen. Perna's vast experience in logistics and national security strategically positions the S.M.A.R.T. 40 fusion energy generator project to significantly contribute to national security and energy independence. His leadership and expertise offer the vital support needed to revolutionize the energy landscape through fusion energy commercialization.
